Monday Swing

Monday Swing is a community hub for working on swing dance, relating more deeply to the music, and growing connections with other dancers.

THERE’S BEEN A CHANGE!

Hey y’all! Monday Swing has been hosting PLS Swing Jazz Jams for about a year now and we’re trying something new.
For Summer 2025 we’re trying out Swing Jazz Jams as a standalone monthly event at a local brewery.
Visit the Jams page for more info!
Monday Swing will now be the same format on all Mondays with lessons every week of the month :)

In a lot of ways Monday Swing looks like a regular social dance, and you can treat it like that! We feature a variety of local DJs to play curated sets of great music.

There is a lesson from 7-8 PM intended for dancers who are ready for a new challenge (typically NOT appropriate for folks who are brand new to the dance). Monday lessons are organized in a 4-5 week series with the topics developed by the teachers. Past topics have included: Jamming and Musicality, Conversational Lindy Hop, The Big Apple, Switch Dancing, and Intro to Balboa.

All Monday Swing dances embrace Practicum etiquette—people are there to work on things and help each other! This is a peer-led effort, although dancers of many levels of experience come out. It’s appropriate for all levels and any degree of “seriousness” about swing dance.

You can come to social dance, chat with friends, work out a new move, practice a routine, re-hash what you learned in the lesson, and be available to help others work on their dancing.
